Consumers will be able to compare the cost of like for like kitchens following the launch of a new price comparison website.
Insight Retail Group (IRG) launched kitchen-compare.com last week, initially comparing the offerings of leading DIY chains Homebase, B&Q and Wickes.
IRG plans to add other retailers to its website in the weeks ahead. It has created three standard kitchen shapes - for example a galley kitchen - in order to make its direct comparisons between retailers more accurate.
Price comparison websites have become popular consumer tools in a number of industries, but have so far only gained traction in sectors where true like for like comparison is possible, such as the insurance and financial services industries.
