W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) has obtained CE Mark approval for its GORE EXCLUDER iliac branch endoprosthesis, designed for the endovascular treatment of common iliac artery aneurysms or aortoiliac aneurysms.
Gore has designed the iliac branch and internal iliac components of the GORE EXCLUDER iliac branch endoprosthesis device.
For the internal iliac arteries, the new endoprosthesis device provides a treatment range of 6.5-13.5mm.
For the external iliac arteries, it provides a treatment range of 6.5-13.5mm.
The loaded catheter's delivery profile allows the use of a 16 Fr introducer sheath for the iliac branch component, and a 12 Fr introducer sheath for the internal iliac component.
This new device has been designed using the polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) graft.
It is used in conjunction with GORE EXCLUDER AAA endoprosthesis components to isolate the common iliac artery from systemic blood flow and preserve blood flow in the external iliac and internal iliac arteries.
First successful implants of the GORE EXCLUDER iliac branch endoprosthesis device have been completed in Italy and the UK.
Gore aortic business leader Ryan Takeuchi noted the new GORE EXCLUDER Iliac branch endoprosthesis offers physicians a fully engineered system that enables the best possible patient care and fulfills an unmet clinical need.

The GORE EXCLUDER iliac branch endoprosthesis is part of the company's GORE EXCLUDER device product line.
